Key To Life
Keys are necessary items in the world we live in. You need a key to get in just about anywhere. Keys open the locked doors. On every hand someone is looking for just the right key to the right door. There is a key to an abundant and meaningful life. But not every key fits the same lock. You need the right key.
The doorway to real life has been shut, locked and sealed for a reason. The reason is man’s sin. My sin . . . your sin. It has separated us from the very author and source of life, God and His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. And if we have no relationship with God or His Son, we can never experience real life.
Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father,
Except Through Me.” (John 14:6) You see, Jesus is the avenue, the way, for us to really know life and truth.
But when man sinned against God, which we all have done. The door was closed and there is no access unto God because He is holy and righteous. We, due to our sin, are unholy and are unacceptable in our rebellious and sinful state.
We must understand that - the wages of sin is death but the Gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23) Sin has barred, locked and shut door to life. We stand outside and without hope.
But, God sent Jesus to die for us because He loves us. The Bible says, But God demonstrated His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
Since the wage of sin is death, Jesus took our place and paid for our sins by giving His own life. God has already done His part to secure our eternity. Now He waits for each of us to accept, believe and receive what He has done for us.
What does God want me to do?
1) Admit that God has not been first place in your life (which is sin) and ask Him to forgive your sins.
I John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
2) Believe that Jesus died to pay for your sins; that He rose again and is alive today.
Romans 10:9, That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
3) Accept God's free gift of salvation. Do not try to earn it.
Ephesians 2:8,9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
4) Ask Jesus Christ to come into your life and be the Director "LORD" of your life.
John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name:
You can take these simple steps by praying this prayer and surrendering your life to the Lord Jesus Christ.
Dear Father in Heaven, thank you for loving me, even when I ignored you and have gone my own way. I realize I need you in my life and I am sorry for my sins. I ask you to forgive me.
I give you the control of my heart and life. As much as I know how, I want to follow you from now on. Please help me to understand more. Come into my life and make me a new person inside. I accept your free gift of salvation, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
